Introducing the Masuri StemGuard
Lightweight protective guard that clips on to the back of your Masuri Vision series helmet for the valuable added protection. Honeycomb design to keep it as light as possible whilst offering test level protection.
Suitable for Masuri Vision Series helmets only
Elite and Test models used the same guard. Club model has a seperate style guard.
The colour options relate to the colour of the guard, so you may for example, have a navy guard with a navy helmet or a yellow guard with a navy helmet.
Masuri have revealed the StemGuard, a clip-on application, which provides additional protection from fast bowling for a batsman’s vulnerable neck. Following the tragic death of Australian batsman Phillip Hughes, Masuri invested over 240 hours of research and development time into the design of the StemGuard.
The StemGuard has been tested at the Progressive Sports Technologies laboratory in Loughborough University.
The StemGuard attaches to existing Masuri Vision Series helmets with moulded clips, giving batsman free movement, while offering new protection to the region around the brainstem where Phillip Hughes was hit.
Masuri Managing Director Sam Miller said: “Masuri extensively studied all information available in order to develop this solution. “We have designed an extension to our Vision Series helmets, which provides new protection to the vulnerable area below the shell of the helmet.
“We have worked closely with cricket’s international governing bodies in the development of the StemGuard. “We worked alongside top designer Alan Meeks [Visitech] to take this from concept to patent pending within three months and the testing has been very promising to this point.”
Nine current England players choose to wear Masuri Vision Series helmets – none are paid to do so.
